Five bright lip shades for Spring

Bright lipsticks from Revlon, Rimmel, Clinique and Essence
Bright lipstick swatches from Revlon Ultra HD Hydrangea, Rimmel Apocalips Stella, Revlon Lip Butter Wild Watermelon, Clinique Cherrypop and Essence Coral Calling

It's still technically a month and a half until Spring begins - but I'm ignoring that and pretending that it's warm every time the sun shines. Nothing makes me feel more in the mood for the fair season than a bright lip and it's the perfect way to brighten dull winter skin. Here are five bright lip's to tide you over until warmer weather, all from the drugstore.

First up is Revlon's Ultra HD Lipstick in Hydrangea; a beautiful bright neutral pink. This is a really lightweight and easy to wear formula that's packed with pigment. I love wearing this on top of a liner for smooth and hydrating colour that will last all day. The colour range is great too.

An old favourite that I don't use too often but pull out when I need something seriously bright. Rimmel's Apocalips in Stella is a probably one of the brightest lip shades you'll find on the high street. The luminescent pink pairs well with simple make-up for a statement lip. The formula is highly pigmented but can be a bit slippy so apply with caution!

Moving onto a brightening red with Clinique's Pop Lip Colour in Cherrypop. This is a beautiful cherry red with slightly pink undertones. I find this really flattering and an easy red to pop on quickly though it will last better over a liner. I love the moisturising formula too.

A lighter way to wear a red lip is with Revlon's Colourburst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon. This is a lovely brightening sheer red that leans slightly orange. This lipstick is perfect for somebody shy of sporting a full on lip but still packs a punch.

Finally, something a little more peachy in the form of Essence's Lipstick in Coral Calling. This is a well pigmented matte formula that isn't drying at all. I find the peachy coral colour to be really flattering and brightening when my skin is feeling dull. You can pick up Essence at Wilkinsons stores in the UK now.

I love these bold shades for a quick makeup look - bright lips are the easiest way to look like you've made an effort. Do you have a bright lip favourite?
