The best brow products: highstreet and high-end

Natural brow productsEyebrows are a game-changer in beauty, they really can change the shape of your face and a polished brow will tie together a makeup look. I've played around with a multitude of products and formulas over the years and the following are a few of my favourites.

Let's begin with my favoured weapon of choice - powder. Powder gives a natural effect when run through the brows. It looks softer and perhaps less defined and clean than a pencil or pomade, but I prefer it because it's laid back and probably the easiest way of bulking up brows. Armed with Zoeva's Brow Line brush I run a blend of Dove Grey and Nude from Bobbi Brown's Nude Eye Palette (no longer available) through my eyebrows. The Zoeva brush is very slightly angled so makes for the easiest application ever - I do a mixture of tapping and short strokes and before I know it, my own slightly lacking brows are voluminous and defined.

Next up is a pencil. I've been through two of L'Oreal's Brow Artist Super Liners in brunette and you can see from the photo above that my current pencil is well loved. I like this pencil because the tone isn't too red and it's nice and waxy which helps to tame my annoying brows. The waxy end on the other hand is a little too soft to really hold much but will neaten your brows if they're better behaved than my own. I apply this on it's own or after powder to fill in a gap in my left eyebrow.

Finally, the brow mascara. Again I've gone to L'Oreal for their Brow Artist Plumper in dark brunette. The tiny brush does a great job of taming my brows, adding colour to all of the finer hairs, and holding my brows in place without feeling sticky. I do get rid of most of the product before applying and I usually pop this on over powder but it actually does a pretty great job on it's own too.

These three products help to tame my eyebrows on a daily basis along with the all important 'spoolie' aka hairbrush for your brows, which also helps to blend product.

What do you think of my selection - am I missing something?
